Whether you find yourself without a vehicle or in need of reliable transportation to and from work, we’re here to help. Our services cater to both long-term transportation needs and short-term arrangements, ensuring you have the rides you need, when you need them.
What is the mission of Community Rides?
Our goal is to offer dependable transportation services for individuals commuting to and from work in Troy. We believe that consistent employment leads to stable income, which in turn opens up more opportunities for a successful and fulfilling life.
How does Community Rides work?
Our transportation service provides convenient rides between your home and workplace in three shifts: 5:30-8:30, 1:30-4:30, and 9:00-midnight. To inquire about a ride, you can easily reach us via phone, email, or by filling out a simple form. Please note that we kindly request a 24-hour notice to accommodate your scheduling needs.
Who pays the driver?
Customers pay for rides on a sliding scale, with each ride costing around $4. Payments are usually made on a weekly basis and a punch card is given to clients. Payment can be made directly to the driver or through alternative methods such as cash app and Venmo.
Who pays for gas and vehicle maintenance?
Community Rides is supported by local grants and foundations. Funding from these sources helps to pay for our gas and regular maintenance.
Who is eligible for Community Rides?
If you require transportation for work, whether it be for a short or long term, you are eligible for our services. Our clients may have temporarily lost their license or may be saving up to purchase a vehicle. We are here to assist them in taking the next step towards their goals in life.
How do I sign up for Community Rides?
To book our services, you can call, email, or fill out the form on our website. We schedule appointments on a weekly basis and are flexible when it comes to last-minute changes. However, we do ask for a 24-hour notice before starting to use our services.
Can I tip the driver?
We kindly request that customers refrain from tipping our drivers. If you are satisfied with the service we have provided, we would greatly appreciate your testimonial to share with others. Donations can also be made to support our organization. Thank you for your support.
